There’s something truly special about photographing a family over the years watching them grow and evolve. This summer, I enjoyed revisiting a family of five at Half Moon Bay for a delightful beach session. Having photographed them last fall, it was heartwarming to see how much the three little boys had grown. Documenting this season of their lives was incredibly rewarding as I chased after these active, joyful boys, capturing their vibrant personalities on camera.
Half Moon Bay provided the perfect backdrop for this energetic session. The wide-open beach offered endless possibilities for the boys to explore and play. They climbed on driftwood logs, ran freely along the shore, and delighted in jumping in the waves. The beach’s natural beauty and expansive space allowed me to capture their adventurous spirits as they immersed themselves in the joys of summer.
The family’s choice of outfits was impeccable. Their perfectly coordinated neutral tones complemented the beach’s soft, sandy hues. One of the highlights of the session was the inclusion of their senior pug, who added a touch of warmth and nostalgia to the photos. Despite his age, the pug was right there with the boys, following them as they explored the beach. The forecast initially predicted fog, a common occurrence at Half Moon Bay, but luck was on our side. We were blessed with a sunlit day, the golden rays casting a beautiful glow over the family.
