If you ask me how the quarantine affected our lives – I would say aside from my husband working from home, me postponing the shoot and no need to get kids to/ from school and swimming, not much changed. Our lifestyle could easily be called social distancing.
The sad part was that my parents who were visiting us from Ukraine had to leave a whole week earlier because of flight cancelations. But we managed to squeeze in some sweet family portraits the night before their sudden departure.
We did a couple of hikes to the Mckeen Ranch with a quick stop at the beach in Half Moon Bay. I took the kids to the Lake Anderson in Morgan Hill, and we found that dreamy lupine field. It reminded me of our trip to New Zealand last year!
We also took off for a weekend camping trip to Stanislaus National Forest—our favorite way of social distancing. You will see a lot of photos with fishing rods, but no fish were caught during that trip.
The rest of the time, we stayed at home and in the neighborhood. Bike rides, teaching kids how to play badminton, walking our dog, and movie nights every night – that’s what usually fills our days on quarantine.
We also tackled a small home improvement project and made a study room for kids. They are excited about their little creative space. As for now, spend a lot of their time building lego, drawing, and doing homework there.
Stay safe and healthy, snuggle your loved ones.
Big virtual hugs and lots of love,
Julia
