There’s something incredibly special about capturing a family’s milestones over the years. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family for the past three years, from when they welcomed their firstborn to now, as we celebrated their youngest daughter’s first birthday. It’s an honor to witness and document the growth of their family.
The setting couldn’t have been perfect for these San Jose family photos. We had warm weather, a glowing sunset, and a golden afternoon. Oak trees stretched tall in the background while the golden grass beneath added a soft, natural touch. There’s something about the warm hues of fall that creates such an inviting and cozy atmosphere in family portraits.
Coordinating outfits for this session was a dream experience. The family wanted a soft, romantic look, and we achieved that with a beautiful floral dress for mom, full of delicate patterns that blended seamlessly with the fall colors. For the girls, we opted for lilac and cream dresses that complemented Mom’s outfit perfectly, adding a soft, ethereal vibe to the overall scene. The colors flowed together so effortlessly, creating visual harmony in every frame.
Throughout the session, the connection between them was undeniable. The little moments—mom softly brushing a strand of hair away from her daughter’s face, dad holding their youngest with such tenderness—were the moments that made this session so meaningful. These are the moments that I love to capture, the ones that feel authentic and timeless.
As the sun set, casting the final golden light over the scene, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to document this chapter in their lives. It was a session filled with love, joy, and beauty.
