The newborn stage is overwhelming and so fleeting at the same time. Every morning you wake up to see a different child – they grow up too fast! You want to memorize their smell, the soft fuzz on their heads, how tiny their face features and toes, and how loving bigs eyes were.
It was one of these California winter days when you can’t believe it’s winter. The sun was shining, the birds chirping, and the fresh grass started to pop up on the Santa Cruz Mountains on the way to their home in beautiful Los Gatos.
This sweet baby girl just turned five weeks. Her mom wanted timeless Los Gatos newborn portraits of just her being a perfect baby. We used minimal props – a simple white swaddle with cream vintage lace trim.
Morning light filled the baby girl’s nursery. The baby calmly enjoyed the view outside the large window. Like all babies, she curiously looked at my big black camera, cooed at her mother’s voice, and was so patient with swaddling. I was so glad we captured her wide-open sky-blue eyes!
